auto data says that the camsaft sproket bolt should be done up to 50nm, but what should the 2 10mm bolts that hold the cam in place be done up to? cheers andy

Std M6 torq - 10 nm . There is no load on them, its a retaining plate.. 10nm should be fine 12nm at a push...

Do you back them off and re-torque after heat cycling the engine, or are you a bodger:scared:

don't worry, it'll be fine....
as long as you don't:
- leave washers on the top of the pistons
- leave masking tape in the sump
:sad2:

Just put on a new chain tensioner on and tried to tighten to 30nm. its was having none of it! just kept spinning then one bolt snapped:(. had another bolt around and put that on and tightened to about 22nm. Any reason why this would happen? and would 22nm be ok?

Nobody had this problem:cry: Autodata says do up to 30nm. Whats everyone else tightened them up to?

Just tight, with a 10mm spanner! that'll do :)
