One of the last bits to be put back on the car......now does it have to be bonded in? can you do it yourself or is it a Autowindow screen jobbie?

cheers

you can buy bonding sealent called tigerseal

you gotta use this stuff as it stays flexible and dosnt shrink in cold or heat, so basicly as the car twists with corners or in the summer or winter your not going to find the screen starts coming lose.

you can do it your self if your logical, but defently needs two people

I thought the GTT only had a rubber seal around the screen?.. does anyone know where I can get a cheap new/nearly new screen?

it does have a seal, but isnt like the rear window, the rubber seal there to surround the glass, there is a trim attached to the body work with wire clip like things....:crap:

the rubber is bonded to the metal

if your fully comp you could just pay your screen excess, then you have a spanking screen and it should come with the new rubber surround :agree:

I only paid £75 for a new screen and to be fitted. More than like lots of companies out there which will do it that price.

its not something you wanna try at home unless you really do have a clue, purely because its 'structural'

give a few local windscreen companies a call and get the best cash price :)

Amen. More 'My mate Danny' answers flying about.

Get it done professionally... it SHOULD be cheaper as they dont have to worry about cutting the old glass out which is the most time-consuming part.

well yes i agree, but if you have got a clue, take the time to get the bead uniform all the way round, have cleaned and preped the rubber and metal with meths or such like first then im sure itll be just a good of a job as the window fitter,

only down side is if it falls out or you break the glass, then you only have your self to fall back on

i need a new one as i have window wiper scores, so im just going to pay £60 for them to fit it
