just a quick question,over the last few days my 5s starter motor keeps spinning for about 10sec or so when the engine fires up.its an oe starter motor and only a few months old any ideas what it could be????

id go with ritchie happened on my 5 is the ignition barrell ok for example when u turn the key does it spring bck its self
if not thats why ur starter will be sticking?

same here, on my old campus the barrell lost its spring from the start position and if you did'nt pay attention and turn it back would keep starter engaged

yer thats what happened to mine markey had to turn it back by hand other wise it would stick the starter motor on

happened to me couple days ago , most deffo the ignition barrel .
like mentioned you can tell by it loosing its "spring back" action

mm sounds like my problem, so when i start the car, if i twist it back slightly on my own and the starter dosnt carry on its barrel replacement time....

tho mie only does it for a matter of seconds,
