i'm struggling to get 2k paint as its now illegal to sell it, will probably be waterbased unless your using commercial paint

the 2K is nasty stuff....basically liquid cyanide which is why its been phased out...

firstly, do you have experience with it, and the air fed mask etc you need....????

secondly, all 2K have different hardeners etc....some use 2 to 1 mix with thinners and then 10% hardener....BUT you need to know whats reommended by the paint supplier

normally a 2:1 paint:hardener and maybe 10%, or some other percentage of thinners according to temperature, or to suit your painting style, for a solid or clear

i think he said he has used it but not with any hardnerr?? something along them lines.
i know he can spray quite well so im not to botherted. only the engine bay aswell so most of it will be hidden.
i think just a solid colour scoff gloss black possibley?
not to sure as i dont really understand it myself.
so the paint will be more then likely impossible to get any way lol

if its a solid colour you could use a commercial paint, which is still 2k but has lower v.o.c emsions.

I use Duponts" imron elite" for commercial stuff and is really good with a 3:1:10% ratio , your paint supplier will advice you when you buy it though

pah! keep it simple.

i painted my engine bay with spray cans! etch primer/primer/colour/laquer.:)

providing you prep it well/give it a good key and clean it properly the jobs a good un:agree:... mine is anyway:D
