ok so im quite happy with my £300 van. Its tatty but its ok if ya know what i mean. I do however need to repair the windscreen surround.

This is the part number for the part on a 5 gt turbo. 7751626972

Is it the same on the extra van. I think it is but thought i would ask.

Also how much can i expect to pay for someone to do this?

Does anyone fancy the job? I certainly cannot weld and i can only just about cut with scissors.

Thanks

Is it a really gay boat with some rusty holes at the bottom of it? if so, yes thats the boat im in.

An extra van turned upside down could actually work as a boat.

Now. If the rust isnt like reallt really bad, can i just fibre glass the hole? filler it. sand down round the edges of the windscreen and treat it?

Im to hot at bodywork but it may look a bit crap as it is hollow under there so the filler may sink if when you sand it down it becomes a hole. On mine its bubbled with rust and to clean it up good it will first become worse, a guy near me says he could cut the rust patch out and re weld in a new bit. Ive got three bits that need doing ive got to work out which will be the cheaper option cut and put in new metal or get a whole ne surround in.

That would be a good idea a discount on the surround maybe someone with the knowhow could start the ball rolling and find out, It seems that it is becoming a common fault now due to the age of the cars.

Now Does anyone know if Deisel glowplugs look the same as sparkplugs when they've had it. Ie black and toasted?

Dan O'Neill

You can test them by using a battery booster if they work they will glow red, put the black lead to the body of the glow plug then put the red lead to the small threads at the top give it a few seconds and it will either glow or not.

Some old dude in the village. Hes a good ole boy.

Hey I tried to fit some 15" wheels to to my Van 2day. FAIL. they rubbed on the rear shocks.

They were 5 spoke fondmetal wheels. 195/45/15 Tyres. What size width are the williams wheels i've seen on the sexy van of Brigsy's.

Mine are 7j wide, need 6mm spacers on back to make clearance.

you can get mesh to cut to shape and poke up underneth to stop the filler comming though,
but personaly id say cutting and wealding would be best, i can weald but mines got no regulater, or wire for that matter.
