i get ither that 1 or does the turbo always go
some people give them a bad name
ive had 17 and touch wood never had a turbo or head gasket go on me
ive had 5 R11 Turbos, never had a head gasket go, although every one the clutch cable snapped and a couple manifold gasket started blowing, thats about the only comon problem ive had. Its all about having a good setup of fueling and cooling. :D
I always say "yeah headgaskets gone but its an hours work I do it myself, costs me £30"
Of course im lying. Ive had help to do it tin the past but still.
I love the "most unreliable car ever" comments.
Again a good come back is "My car is funny and its quick, more than i can say for you"
or "your girlfriend loves it"
the look on there faces when i say ive had it for 3 years and never had one go they go all drop jawed saying no way.

i get this all the time, from people who dont respect cars, from kids who aint even old enough to drive, but when i question them can u explain to me why the headgasket fails they cant supply a decent answer
anyway i blown 1 headgasket in almost 7 tears of ownership, i was feeling rich that week :D

I just say no its a campus replica....:)
As for the head gasket thing never had one go, although got a funny feeling about my cup car.... always a funny feeling about buying a car you know no history about...
I dont mind, if the engine lets go it will be rebuilt by somebody who knows a thing or 2 about them.
I always get the 'yeh ma mate 'ad 1 of dem.. it woz fcukin rapid,, but 'e sold it coz da headgasket kept goin'
It's so predictable
Sometimes I explain why the headgasket fails for these people who just whack the boost up, but I usually get a glazed look :coffee:
Well yeah, we all have, and most of us have had to replace the HG at some point.
Had to do my 5 and my 11 turbos HG (dotn mention the washers in the bores). But that was from age of gasket not boost related blowup. My carb as perfect as my nose had tuned it to 11.5:1 AFR  TOMMY TRUMPET TUNING :D
