View Full Version : 14psi
Hey
i currently run 12psi on a standard turbo and standard unstrapped IC.Iv been told the carb was set up by CGB to run 12psi and it seems to run fine.
So would i be able to run 14psi safely with this setup?
Would i even notice the difference?
Whats the standard boost pressure?
where is your boost reading being taken from? carb top or manifold?

Standard boost is belived to be 7 or 9 psi.
Should be able to run 14 on a standard carb not to sure.
I ran 14psi in my tungy and that was quick:)
I wonder if its jetted up enough.
I have run a bar with the standard intercooler unstrapped blah blah
and the carb more or less the same, if its set for 12psi id imagine that the extra 2psi or even 2.8 psi would not do it much harm.
You will notice a slight difference :p

mine never have ;)
Also i have an under bonnet bleed valve, i take it this will only control as much boost as is set at the wastgate actuator? so will i need to adjust it there first, check , then if not quite high enough wind in the arm?

14psi is borderline fuelling for the carb, in most cases. I doubt the extra 2psi would make your car feel that much different, so maybe it's best to err on the side of caution?

Is that not what i just said, but in different word? :cooter:
Given the majority of my posts on here are invisible/ignored, I guess it doesn't make much difference... ;)

i run 14psi strapped and flowed(properly not glued etc, removed internalflap etc)
saying that it over fuels and discussed before i need to find out what jets i have, still i dont wanna fudge the carb by taking apart, tho ive taken a xr2 and nova carb apart for new gaskets
just dont wanna end up with a non running car lol
The carb was designed to come apart, hence rebuild kits... So why would it become broken by dismantling it?...
