Yeah it is very OE other than the radbourne decal strips in fact the new owner not JRP has refurbed the alloys and it needs a repair to the passenger door as someone tried to break in to it but other than that it is perfect runs like a dream and it so quiet and the engine sounds fantastic.

The strips aren't Radbourne decals, they were put on a few of the late cars in serveral dealships in the South, not sure about the rest of the UK.

Yes I know it came from Radbourne, I was only saying the Decals aren't a Radbourne one off. Several dealers did it to the last lot of cars they had to try and make them look like a limit edition.

:agree:when i brought my car from cgb he said they did do this to a few of the 5 turbos because they were takin a while to sell on the forecourt and was abit of a problem to get rid of.adding the stickers it wouldd make them apealing to the eye:cool:and as you said pass them off as a limited eddition.im pretty sure he said it was only down the south london area they did this.

This is for the people who ask and ask for updates and i never bother.

Ok most of you now know iam very unhappy with my paint job.

So today armed with G3 compound, sonus polish compound, nattys wax (smells sexual) and a host of other goods i went to town on her.

Trying to sort out the things the body shop so woefully attempted to correct.... pathetic if iam to be truthful.

Anyhooooo it took fecking ages but i think one maybe two more sessions on it i may be a tad closer to being happier, this is how she now looks.

Update.

Been offroad since november, bad weather etc

Thought id do somthing as i was bored, so the engine is out and stripped.
Been on a spending spree for a few weeks.

T25 turbo, Piper 300 spring and vernier may change to 285, forged pistons, steel liners, manifold (tubey), l/b flywheel, pretty large front mount.

so its ll go go here.. still in 2 minds wether to change the rods with the pistons etc (makes sense in my head)

anyway a few other things being done, general clean up of bay and under the car AGAIN...

So 563 miles done and now having a change up... pic to follow :) peace

Haha i cant remember who told me now, but someone bought some liners and they needed extensive honing etc as they weren't perfect circles.

Just some free advice and could possibly save you alot of agro :)

If you got them free though, then your already on a winner.. Also something else to consider is what rings your going to run. Hope this helps.

JRP
17-02-2011, 21:41
Nice one ;) i saw it on ebay pistons at a decent price then in the add he put the liners in from ktec or somthing. really nice guy when he dropped them off.. just said it was sitting going to waste so selling on.

i'll check the liners out at the machine shop, i need special rings for the liners though nik somthing or other ?? any suggestions? or would the ones that come with the pistons suffice?

Dave Reed
17-02-2011, 21:52
tbh i think it was the mecca car parts ones, but could of been the gay-tech ones.. Damn my memory is getting bad lol..

That will be nickercil (spelling) .. I run total seal ones, but then they are a bit hit and miss with sealing.. I think some people just run standard rings.. All you've got to remember is 1 of the surfaces has the bed into the other, so something has to give ;)

You can get the ones you have got Nikasil coated, if they are the k-tec ones they are not coated, Total seal rings as Dave says re good with the teel liners, but from memory I think the wossner rings you have should be ok with the steel liners as that's what BBPT and K-tec used to sell with there kits

Dave Reed
17-02-2011, 22:06
where do i gt nicercil ones from then :)

I'm not sure you can get them.. Nickercil is normally a coating found on the bores.. I got my rings through the guy who does alot of engine work for me.. I'd have to have a look at my paperwork to see where i bought them from as they come from the states via a uk distributer.

What you need to think about is what you actually want out of the engine and what you want it to do

Dave Reed
17-02-2011, 22:13
james i'm not sure there was a past number as all you do is measure the ring depth and obviously size of piston and then they'll match it up.. I'll have a look round a some point though.

So 2011 is drawing to an end and the 5 has not moved.

BUT

The new garage/workshop is being sorted and further extended in the new year so this 5 will be over and build again.

Cant wait to get the new garage sorted PARTY at JRP's when its complete.

Ohh the car on the other hand is not speaking to me after being stood still for a year +
