Hi

I am looking at fitting a stereo into my car but the last owner has butchered the wires buy cutting his stereo out including the iso connector then taped all the wires up

On the car wiring i think you are looking for a black 'earth' wire and two red positive wires (Battery constant lives) to get the main power to the unit. Possibly a yellow or orange as well for the ignition feed and illumination. The rest will most likely be orange/grey wires for the speakers :)
