View Full Version : Laguna II GT "ICE" project
Here is my car that I am using on daily basis...something minor I am going to do...change program, turbo, something need to be done to update ice from inside etc...
I like about this car...there are some power (204 bhp), but it is not enough for sure.
At this weekend we officially tested how good (fast Laguna is when running 1/4 mile).
Here is the best result (rest of the results were almost same):
ET: 15,103s
SP: 148,70 km/h
RT: 0,785s
60 ft: 2,450s
330ft: 6,502s
660 ft: 9,974s
990 ft: 12,873s
Should be better, but result is ok.
That is about 88mph in the trap ? How heavy is the car ?

If it's that heavy then it is maybe not such a bad result, 200hp or so at a guess ? :)

204 bhp... and that car is heavy.
204 bhp... and that car is heavy.
That sounds about right, I got 205hp for 1400kg total (guess) :)
What's 1175 @ 103 then Mr S ;)
What's 1175 @ 103 then Mr S ;)
does 1175 include you ? I'll guess at the UN1 having 15% loss so I'll say 260hp. 220hp or so at the wheels anyway ;)
Yes ,1080 on the weighbridge with very near full tank ...+ me =1175 :o
204 bhp... and that car is heavy.
Also you should count me (90 kg) and almost full tank (about 60 litres).

My Colt (small car) weighed 1120 with no fuel and with me out.

I allowed 100kg for that in the calc, so not too far off :) 60L of fuel to do a 1/4m ? :D
15.1 @ 92.3mph for a standard Laguna is better than I'd have thought. A second quicker than a standard GTT back in the day.
It's turbocharged Trev :)

in a std 182 i was gettin 15.3's all day long
15.1 is good for a car that weighs alot!

I know mate. I assumed it was the standard 2.0 petrol turbo Rneault were doing at the time. I understood from the OE figures I read when this model was launched that the 0-60 was ok but not great and that it was 204bhp. I also guessed the car was heavy. So seeing a 15.1 ET in this thread surprised me a bit, in a nice way that is. :agree:
Or are we saying this particular car was N/A and has been modded to take a turbocharger?

This is original Laguna GT and no mods.
We are going to modify and make test 1/4mile after that :) .

HAHA....noo...place where we were drag racing was about 150 km away from my home.
BTW...we will do DVD from that day. We had 3 High Definition cams there and we will edit whole material :D and publish it (should 1-1.5 hours long)
Smart, as I thought then :) Good luck, will be keen to see this do well :agree:
