Anybody managed to fit these pair on a gtt?
did you make a spacer for the turbo elbow? or something else?

ive got a tubular manifold on mine with a bms downpipe no mods required for me to fit mine but it was tight though

Mine fits like a dream. Its not K-tec manifold tho...

Spent WAY too long trying to fit an enlarged downpipe to James Surridge car, he has the ktec manifold and it is a ktec downpipe but no matter what I do it does not line upto the exhaust correctly :(:(:(
Solution = BIG heat and BIG hammer to make a dent by the fouling downpipe to get the correct angle.
Scoff showed me the light lol
Looks a better solution than the stock elbow :)

nope not touching (just 2mm gap)

oh is it the turbo your refering to or the actual downpipe itself touching..
Spent WAY too long trying to fit an enlarged downpipe to James Surridge car, he has the ktec manifold and it is a ktec downpipe but no matter what I do it does not line upto the exhaust correctly :(:(:(

That's strange! because the car had a decent fitting k-tec d/p on with the manifold!! the b.m.s is a no go though :(
so basically you dented it then? no point having an enlarged one on there if you're gonna do that is there?:confused::laugh:
The other problem you may run into, when I fitted my v-band elbow a couple of weeks back was it might touch the water lines for the heater matrix. I had to re-route the lower one slightly, but my elbow is 3'' rather than everyone elses 2 1/2''.

No, everything Ok. Flange is same as SS gasket. 5 bolt patern and exhaust housing is classic T2/T25 so do not see the problem. One bolt/hole is blank.
T2 and T25 stud patterns are totally different.
My mistake. They fit on same 5 bolt flange. That was my point.
iv got the same problem, ktec manifold and bms dp, mine doesnt quite touch,but when hot i can only get a piece of paper between the 2 so its a tight fit
is there gains to be had from a tubular manifold?
I cannot tell since I changed turbo, downpipe, head, manifold, IC all at once. Cannot say is turbo more laggy (because of the its lenght) than before either :scratch:
As a product of mine is being mentioned, I'll add some additional information to the thread..
Firstly, apoligies to the few who have experienced clearence issues with k-t** manifold, it appears the sharp angles on the first header closes the distance from d/p to manifold to within 5mm, although this seems to vary.
When the prototype one-peice was made it was designed to fit around the cast manifold whylst still giving enough clearence to avoid burning the heater hoses.
A well designed equal-length manifold could produce some gains,(nice examples from italy ect.) but over the years im yet to see much back-to-back proof on the c1j. Check Stuart Clark's engine for reference to benifits...
I think a high percentage of the club feel there are more gains to be had from removing restrictions after-turbo, and so I was catering my product to the majority of people with an o.e. manifold in situ.

it's far better quality than the manifold for sure! i was shocked when i shined a torch in the end of the manifold!:(
Only reason ther manifold is on there is because it was on when i bought the car.
i wonnder if just another turbo flange spacer could be made just half an inch that would take it away from the manifold wouldnt it. boris how much were the flanges to have laser cut mate this would be the cheapest option

When I had a large batch of flanges made they were about 15 each.
I can enquire on monday about a small numer being made if required.

On James 5 the ktec manifold is an earlier version and ktec modded it later on to get around the downpipe fouling issue.
Never dented it in the end as James is going to go with another option - currently going to put his original downpipe back on for now (once the donut gasket turns up) could not stop it from leaking without :(
On the ealier manifold you can get it to fit (with very very fine gap) but the angle it joins the exhaust is way off and does not seal. Also you have to loose the bracket which is really needed on the tubi mani ;)
Seems there are pro's and cons to tubi mani v's oe mani. I worry about lack of heat shielding on tubi - but I like to worry lol

the one on the back of the block that goes between the downpipe & exhaust

Bracket takes the strain off the tubi manifold - big turbo and full exhaust hanging off it is never going to be a good thing -

mmm what to do then? it would'nt line up with it on.
i had a bracket made up,it looks reall smart aswell a bit like the ones cossies have fitted i will get a pic for you
