Getting my car back on the road from SORN....

I will get the MOT and Insurance letter on the 16th Sept. The car is currently SORN, if i go to the post office, will they issue a tax disk there and then?

I can't miss national day.

Hi Brad,

You probably have to apply to DVLC then they send you a new form form the post office.

Though maybe you could take the V5 to the post office? With MOT and Insurance.

Try giving DVLC a ring and ask them.

I think you can go to the DVLA website, and apply for the tax disc there. The MOT and Insurance information is automatically on their system when they're valid.

as said above,you can do it online,if you prefer to use the post office though,im sure you'l be fine,as when you tax it,it will automatically end the sorn.

I can only see you can do it online when you have a ref number. I always use the online method but how do you do it when you dont have a ref which is on the letter they send?

I know you have sorted it lol ..i SORNED my clio a few times..its just a case of going into the post office and asking for a tax disc :)
