On my way to work this morning, i noticed my battery light flickering on every so often, mostly so on bumps. On idle it is on virtually constant unless you hold the revs above 1.5krpm in which case it flashes on and off intermittently. Any ideas what this could be? The battery is virtually new.

Could be a slipping alternator belt.

Mine did that, turned out to be a loose wire. You have a yellow and brown? wire that goes into the alternator near the radiator side. I made the connection better and sorted it

If there is a universal connector at the top ensure all the connections are clean.

I had this, also from a loose connection. It was old alarm wiring under the dash and it was smoking and looked as though it was about to light up. Melted an old conecter block and everything!

Have you checked the connection on the back of the starter, its worth a look as the old exhaust bracket may be catching the live back there
