Does anybody know what cam ktec's KTR camshaft is closest too, piper or catcams.

The piper 285 seems a popular choice with others just wondered what peoples thoughts were on the catcams and the ktr cam?

any advice would be great

Somebody very experienced once told that CatCams are better "balanced" than Piper which makes them bit better with vernier and a lot better without.

I have BBPT GT cam at the moment and is better match with GT25/T25 than Piper 285 was. Would recommend Piper 270 for slightly increased compression engine and standard T2 turbo.

Im glad someone posted this:) as im looking to get these next week 285 piper cams with springs. 'But' Im in need of a new turbo, witch turbo would go best with these cams and for my car as its a track car. need one that is good for high boost but not so laggy when coming out of corners was aiming around 170+bhp

Any info would be great;)

285 cam is really good. Only downside of mine was it meant the turbo couldnt supply enough air. Need to put my bigger one back on :)

But all thats a good thing, yeah?

for what you want you might be better off with a standard cam and a smallish (T2/T25) turbo.

i bought a catcams cam for my turbo2...was a mighty fine looking cam, but then again it wasn't a regrind.

the springs that i have just fitted on my GT are very nice looking too. - they are nowhere near being coil bound and thats with alot of lift! i didnt bother with the retainers.
