I'm doing a rebuild, nothing fancy lol

I've just been browsing about and can't seem to find anything cheaper than K Tec's p & l kit

Even on the GSF website I'm seeing 235+VAT !!!

If theres anywhere remotely cheaper, point me that way please :agree:

I'll have a chat with my local engineer Spooky and see what price he comes up with, he's normally been quite good for me.

expand on that please sparkie.... :)

the days of paying nothing for stuff are ending.

a working engine won't be available for £150 for much longer if the parts to rebuild them go up or become obsolete.
Look at how much engines for other marques are these days?

if parts are becoming more expensive and harder to come by, wouldnt it make sense for us as a club to start buying bits up in bulk and sell through the shop then pass the saving on to members. we have the cash, the contacts and i assume the demand for them so makes sense to buy.

I am looking into this at present .
We can get some good deals on a lot of bits BUT we need to add the postage cost to the weightier items .
There also is a bit of a history of the club buying stock that then sits on the shelves for years even though there was a ' demand ' from members that then failed to purchase .

Parts have gone crazy what with the Euro becoming much stronger. I use Tarabusi, but their prices have nearly doubled, but it is good kit.

Most definatly mate, had been a while since i purchased a set of piston/liner set and was quite surprised its gone up about £100 from what i use to get them for. Even the price of a set of rings has gone up a fair bit.

Perfect Circle Sparks.

They've always used them.

The company used to supply an engine building company who used to prep/build fast road/race spec engines and cars.

Well, I've just been quoted £720+vat for a rebuild.

Or he'll supply everything I need so I can do it myself, including balancing the bottom end for £550 :agree:
