I'm looking for some tyres, I'd decided on RE720s, but it seems they're discontinued, I'm not sure that Bridgestone make that size anymore :(

Before anyone says 888s, I'm not going to run 50s, the 45s are silly big in the arches as it is.

This brings me to the list at Camskill:

of those I'm thinking T1R....

Any better suggestions? Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I read on MLR that folks going from T1S to T1R are unhappy with them, but that's a much heavier car, maybe they suit a light car better?

I read the thread here where Russell T compared the RE720 to the Stunners and found the RE720 better, I trust Russell's opinion on that, but how do they compare to Toyos?

What do they know?! ;)

I'm happily running T1R's on the Evo, if that helps...

Andy, have you looked into Avon CR500. They are expensive but are available in 45 profile, and I can vouch for them, stiff sidewall and loads of grip. Boris is running a set ATM.:)

One of my mates runs Federal tyres in that size on a Fiesta Turbo.
They seem to grip amazingly and have survived a few track days.

I'm getting that T1R vibe, thanks for all the input, even that which I've chosen to ignore :)

Andy, if you're not in a hurry I'm expecting delivery on 195/45 T1Rs, once I got them on I'd happily share my experience/thoughts about them :agree:

I'd be glad to hear it, this is as good a place as any to put them :)

I think I may be ordering quite quickly, a chap can only run on 3 spoke wheels for so long before his manhood withers away

i'm using t1's and i find they grip really well- only problem being they've superseded to the t1'r so its hard to find any t1's around

My next purchase will be a set of toyo's t1'r as i've heard they are rated :agree:

i run t1r's,realy good in wet and dry, although i can tell the difference between them and my last set of yoko a539s , preffer yoko's in all honesty but they seem to be more expensive,

for the money the toyo is a awesome all round performer tho :agree:

Don't you start! ;)

I mentioned it for reference, that's all. They seem to work fine on track, in the rain as well, and are good enough for decent times around the 'ring.

Win!

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

ACB10 8.0/22 15 or 9.0/22 15, good track day tyre 22 inch tall either width so have a 2mm smaller diameter than the 195/45 15 profile. Work best on light weight stuff but i found them to be great for grip, only come with 4-5mm tread though.
