Swirl pot

I got to work and i thought i could smell oil. So i opened the bonnet and the swirl pot had popped off the pipe under it.. I dunno what happeded, i didnt drive it any different to how i do normal. Im hoping it stays on on the way home.. Does any one know what might of caused this? Also i dunno if this makes any difference but also i noticed on the way to work my temp guage goes down the back up when i go round corners now :confused:

The same happened to me with the oil seperator years ago, jubilee clip the rubber pipe on. The pipe on my gtt had gone baggy with age.

The pot could also pop off if the engine is breathing a bit heavy too. Clip it on & see if it sorts it.

You mean the oil seperator pot ??
Just push it back on & it should stay there, the temp gauge, you may have loosened/broken the wires as they are around the back of the oil pot on the water pump ;)
