Fitting the new rings to the pistons tomorrow, just had a look in the manual and just wanted to make sure that i do it right.

The bottom ring (think this is called the oil control scraper) comes in 3 seperate peices, a spiral like ring, then 2 thin rings. Now when i fit this do i fit the spiral ring first then fit one of the thin rings at bottom the the spiral ring and one at the top of it? or am i completly wrong?

Hope you understand i can try and get a picture if needed

thanks

i start from the bottom of the piston. for the oil scraper rings i place one thin one in then the gridded one then a thin one then the other two are pretty explanitory. i cant remember on the perfect circle piston if the grooves are slightly different and if the top two ring are different thicknesses as my wossners were this way. but its fairly simple just take your time not to snap them.:agree:

best bet, get someone else to do it so when they do snap u can blame them lol

do the thin rings go on before the scraper ring or do they hold the scraper in place?

Start bottom to top, with oil ring inner first then lower then top.... if you break rings you aint doing it right.....:)
