As per title this is for an R5 GTT but not with a C1J lump it is for an F4r engine R5 GTT.

Well here goes I am having a bloody awful time trying to get the 172 lump to even start now.
I have wired up the following that I believe is required to get the f4r engine running:

Live from battery to Starter,
Live from battery to alternator,
Live Ignition barrel,
Ignition switch from Ignition barrel to starter,
Ignition swith to starter solenoid,

ECU live,
ECU ignition live,

Earths engine to chassis (got 5 :D ), battery, ECU

I have the above and I think I understand the process of starting the engine as follows - Turn the key which will activate the starter which will then turn the flywheel / engine which will then trigger tdc which will then give me spark?? or am i missing anything?

Oh and my starter is knackered just need a new end casing on it that has the copper bush in and battery won't charge apart from that all is good. (probably find once got new batt and sorted starter all will be good)

Any sensible advice welcome.

Many thanks James

You need to break it down to identify the problem....

First, is it turning over on the starter?
