Too much torque for the gearset to handle? You might see cracks on the other cogs too.

As a confidence builder, when I had my Pulsar mapped last year, I was shown a 3rd gear cog from a stock GTiR gearbox, which was new from Nissan 12 days earlier, so I was told. It suffered the same fate as your 4th one has. The fella honestly didn't think my box would last at 1.7 bar, but it did. The car that tore the other box to pieces was running 2 bar though.

well, thats a 1.1 bar f7p that did that on a 6k 3 year old box

but as predicted by others, it was a jb3 valver box, waste of space lol

am not re-using anything in it, sold the lot on, but i requested knackered bits back once lad who bought it stripped it

I doubt the 172 is much better ? mine held out longer than I imagined it would, I don't know if I was lucky or not though :)
