right, unfortunatley i gained my 1st speeding ticket last nite, 40 in a 30, so wasn't feeling too clever, looked at the ticket today and saw the time on the ticket said 19:30, it was actually 9:30pm, so the ticket i signed for was 2 hours earlier. all the rest of the details are correct, is there any point in pointing this out, because at 7:20pm i wasn't committing the offence that i signed for?!?

ticket to ride i belive the song was by the beatles.

possible you can, but as the ticket was done in person it will have been logged by the office/control and all sorts.

maybe on the grounds the ticket is incorrect, but then they might make the penalty worse for more admin time....

You may find that a lawyer who specialises in RTL will get you off on a technicality. That's a crucial mistake the officer has made:dearme:, times have to be accurate otherwise the ticket ain't worth the paper it's printed on.:smokin:

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

as the guys are saying above it may just be more hassle then it is worth, and theres nothing stopping the old plod just completing a new ticket based on the info logged on the central computer, and after all you did sign to say all the details are correct the finger of blame will be pointed back to you so maybe just let this one fly!

I got a speeding ticket the second week of passing sent my details off sent the cheque of even though the date and time were incorrect and they sent it all back with a letter sayin your a naughty boy but consider this a warning, i would tow the line and see what happens.

Mark forgot to ask before, was it a traffic officer that caught you and did you admit to the offence? If it was a traffic car then their speedo is certified unlike a normal "beat" car, also if you admitted to the offence at the scene then forget contesting it.

yeah was a traffic cop and he laser'd me from 147.3m to be precise lol.

signed the form to say i wasn't concentrating blah blah so i think i'll just take them like a man. just called my insurance and they said not to worry and it hasn't affected my premium at all which is nice. just gutted cos i'd kept it clean for aaaaaaages lol

if you failed to produce within 7days and did so after 8 days you are able to protest what you sign for. if you play by the rules your bang to rights. :crap:

Then fail to attend court, they would proscute you in your absence theres a chance you could appeal and rip there evidence apart :wasntme:

I've stoped playing games now, but they might have put the time down as wrong so when cross checked they dont get in the crap from the bosses , by using a gun that hasnt been calabraited recent enough :ashamed:

it is surposed every time police use such hand held equipment. it should be checked by officer standing at side of road and the traffic car drives past at 30mph - and then 60mph before they set out to use it.

how come ive never seen them doing so i wonder.

Ive be pulled when doing no more than 40mph in a 40mph and they made me take a ticket doing 52 mph when i was 17 . that made me wise to what goes on.

Theres loads of rules about how they use each peice of equipment.
I dont belive they always play by the book.
If you know you were going what they have charged you with, fair enough , but if you belive other wise it is possable.

i was court doing 46 in a 30 with the laser. contested it

the police were not clearley visable and i asked to see the calerbration certificate because it needs to be calberated every 3 days they could not produce it so i was let off. ask for the cert 9 times out of 10 you will get away with it.
