if you're talking about the n/a 5 only the late models with an AEI unit will be suitable I think...

If it looks the same as a gtt distributor it will work fine, i used a 1.4n/a distributor years ago.

Well it looks identical to the one I have, the car has an aei in the position of th ph1's and looks to have single point injection if that helps?

As other have said - if it looks the same, it'll be fine. But stay away from the dizzy used on the 950cc and 1.1 litre Renault 5s, as they' have points for the ignition advance rather than an AEI unit. You could probably just ignore the LT side of things and only use the HT bit, but it'd look a bit odd.

And I wouldn't try to get the dizzy off the 1.7 litre engine to fit a GT Turbo, it goes on the end of the camshaft :laugh:

Rich wouldnt the points system be used on the older 5s? This is an Lreg with an AEI and automatic choke

L-reg is positively modern! Points dizzies are on the 1985-1989 (ish) 950cc, 1108cc and I think 1397cc Renault 5s (yes, Supercinq shape) - TC, TL, GTL etc.
