View Full Version : Animated engine build screensaver, feckin brilliant
Really smart screensaver. Got this from a mate at work then searched for it on the net for you lot, see text below.
Animated engine build. Shame there's no gearbox or turbo but still feckin brilliant. Enjoy.
Deutz Engine Screensaver:

Animated Screensaver of a four cylinder engine assembling itself then running showing the combustion cycle. (Windows NT, 2000 or XP only, recommend 512MB RAM) Important - This is a 42.3MB file (your download may time out). When you are asked to open or save, select save and a location that you can find on your drive. It is an executable zip file (you do not need a zip software). Go to where you have saved the file and double-click on it to unzip. The default folder is c:/Temp for all of the files. Go to where you unzipped the files and open 'readme.txt' for installation instructions.

deutz.exe.... save to your desktop and double click, follow the instructions. It was as simple as that for me.
Don't think Vista is listed in the OSs that work with this file. :sad2:

Just downloaded it, works a treat :agree:
I just saved it to my desktop, double clicked on it, used the 'browse' box to select c:\windows\system32 as the unzip location for the files and clicked 'okay'.
Then when i right clicked on the desktop, selected properties then screen saver tab deutz engine was in the list of screensavers, select it, click okay and away you go!!

Does anyone know what engine it is? one of the guys in the office thinks its the 1.8 16v VAG enigine?
I heard Ford engine Stu. Who knows. Andy, Mart, get this on your machine and tell us.
Glad there's finally a few who are able to get this working and reckon it's good :)
i heard it was based on a ford design, but it wasnt actually a production engine.
we had this at work a while ago. :)
I haven't opened this one, but if it is the one I've seen then it's a ford duratech (2.0 2.3l all ali, fantastic engine). Bit of poetic license when the pistons go in through the crankcase....
