Hi Guys,
Besides my fast silver 5gtt i'm also working on a R11 for some trackdays.
I still have many parts from the autocross 11 i raced between 2002 and 2005.
This winter i've made some progres with it. The bodywork has been painted a couple weeks ago. Here are some pics.

I have bought a complete back axle (or how do you say) from a R19 16v last week. :agree:

Now that i'm waiting on a new camshaft for my 5, i have some time for the 11 again.
Last weekend i got the engine in, and changed the rear axle.

I have fitted bigger front breaks last week. From Clio 16v.

Here the results of a couple of months good work every evening & weekend.
I have made some good progress and this project is comming to an end.

I remember brigsy telling me how ludacrisly well these things handle.

I bet a modern say megane 225 or 172 turbo engine in one would be sublime :D

Yeah, looked like a good hooker so left it on. If that aint pimpin...:cool:
This 11 should handle better than a 5 yes.

I have also been thinking of fitting a Megane 225 engine, and could have bought one for a good price. But i had a good C1J engine of 200bhp+ and lots of spare engine parts.

Of course.. however im sure the bigger capacity and proven reliability of the 225 engine would be ideal really.


What spec did the group a renault 11's run suspension and engine wise?

The black wheels are from an older BMW. I think e30 or e21. 15", 4x100, 7" wide, ET23. But i use them on my 5.

I now have 15" TSW wheels with Michelin SB9 slicks for the 11. I wil make a picture of it.

Last weekend i have made some spacers for the front wheels. 17mm.
The rear is wide enough with the R19 axle.
Also made a pic of the new wheels.
Bought them for only 60Euros and cleaned them up.

watch that the spacers don't give you too much kickback in the steering, it might drive better with more inset.

That car is looking good...are you going to keep wheels in original color or have you thought powder coating etc.?

The 11 is ready now, and i have driven it on Zolder last month. It was realy good fun. :) The track was very wet so i had to use some street yokohama's. I only have some small things to do on the car like paint the back bumper and connecting the fuell gauge,.. So i'm glad this project is at its end. I had mostly all parts in stock to build this car, so it will be good fun for not mutch money.

I had about 4 or 5 trackdays this year on Zolder, Zandvoort and Mettet. Never had any technical problem at all. The car (and me) is getting faster each time.
