Anyone got any special tips?

The only pressurewasher i'll have access to is a monster diesel generator one and I dont really want to use it as its a tad powerful...

I just want to give it a good flush through and remove any possible blockages...

Just use a hose pipe and leave it run for a while , that will do the job ! Tho the pressure washer your on about isnt that powerful ! Why im telling you this i dont know seeing as im the mug doing it ! :D

yeah, all i use is a hose pipe, let it run for about 10 min, during that shake the rad and turn it upside down and stuff, just to try and dislodge any sediment that may be stuck

I'll be busy doing other things bearded one :p

I was hoping to do it in situ, but i guess shaking about would help. Was just wanting to get some pressure behind it to dislodge any crap thats stuck in there.

I always used to dump some rad flush into the system and run it on idle for 15 mins first to try and dislodge any shyte, then take the rad out (once the engine has cooled for a couple of hours) and flush it through both ways, also used to blast some water through the top and bottom rad hoses, kept running water through till clear.

Something i also do is use an old top rad hose to refill the coolant reservoir once its all back together, the large rad hose end fits perfectly over the filler neck and a 2ltr fizzy drink bottle neck fits quite nicely into the other end, open bleed nipples and squeeze the drinks bottle pressurising the system, makes bleeding easier. :D

Remove Rad. Shower with it. Make love to it. Blow it.

pour flash floor cleaner into the expansion tank.
take off the small pipe that goes into the top of the expansion tank, and pull it from its clips and trail it over the drivers side wing.
start the car.
when the thermostat opens (assuming you are running one)
all the coolant runs into the bucket you've put under the pipe.
you just keep filling up the expansion bottle as it empties.
eventually all the water comes out clean and smelling floral- depending on what flash you've used.
then fill with coolant and put pipe back on.

to properly clean the rad, you will need to remove and spray water through it.
