last night i came to fitting my silicon lower rad hose, it took a combination of swearing, washing up liquid , boiling water and a heatgun, plus a lot of time to get it on, it was a nightmare. Any tips in future as at the moment it has a slight kink so i think i may have to do it again. :scared:

btw this is the hose that goes from the lower rad, to bottom of the water pump.

I found that i had to remove the alternator to get the pipe on.

To do this ..there is a tension style clamp that needs loosened off for the belt ...then simply undo the bottom bolt holding on the alternator and get it out the way.

hope this helps :)

Or make life even easier and buy a std hose rather than silicone ;)

Could you use the spring from the OE hose to stop the silicone one kinking?

Agree with the alternator solution. Quick and easy.

i acutally ended up taking off the alternator, bumper , radiator, was still a pain in the ass, im thinking it was simply the size of the silicon hose that made it difficult, today my fingers and hands hurt :(

what silicone hoses are you using? my SFS ones can be done with just bumper off and a flexi jubilee driver

im not fond of these silicone lower rad hoses. to me they seem abit too soft so to speak when compared with a oe hose. also the hard plastic sleeve thats fitted around the oe hose is there for a reason!

I've got the same hoses mate. I just took the grill off and poked it through from the front, then a flexi jubilee driver like Markey said.
