Has anyone tried any of these new large capacity intercoolers?

FMIC are cheaper but I do like the short pipe run of the original set up.
ASI hoses seams to be great quality according to members feedback...
IC is from the same seller. IMHO this price is fair and everything above is/was overpriced due to small demand. God bless China :)

agree sparkie, my buddy that did the CDH stuff couldn't compete with the 50p rads coming over from the asian sweat shops. the rad cores cost him as much as you can get a whole rad from china :(
But than again there are price driven customers and quality driven customers. For example I do not expect that new turbo can cost less than 700 quids which is over two average Croatian monthly incomes. If it costs less than it is crap. Same thing with rads, ICs,wheels...
Yes but when folk who are attracted by cheap prices end up buying Chinese, that takes away a portion of demand from the UK-based manufacturers and thanks to economies of scale, prices for related UK products go up across the quality range. Those who want any sort of quality or simply want to support the UK economy have to spend more money. :disagree:
mmm, maybe we should have all bought cars made in england rather than france

Is that you in your Avatar Robbo?
It's worth paying higher prices and going Euro over UK when the alternative is Brisith Leyland
Whats wrong with british leyland?? lol totally agree with you there m8, the quality of the welding on the chinese intercoolers isnt as good as the pace - gt tuning - ktec ones but they are less than half the price. yeah thats me just hanging around;)

I have emailed ASI for the safe working/max pressure that can be run with their IC as their eBay doesn't say but, if they are prepared to say 70psi Max then the welding can't be too bad? Time will tell.
Whats wrong with british leyland??
More to the point - what was right with them?

Um. 50% of the price and if they leak, 0% of the quality. A bum deal all round then.

Sorry for firing up an old thread and possible igniting and old agument, but I've found this intercooler for another Chinese mob. The welding actually looks quite good and it costs a little more than the others?

3 year warranty as well. Could be worth a punt.
Things have moved on a long way in 5yrs, this could be a decent buy. :agree: Difficult to know until someone takes the plunge though.

Did you buy this intercooler??
We wont know flow/temp characteristics either. That's not to say these Chinese ones wont be as good or even better than the ones over here though.
