I got my car back on the road yesterday and noticed something that seems strange to me.
The car has started to back fire, its fine when driving on and off boost. but when i turn it off it backfires. it doesn't happen straight away though, there's time to switch it off, shut the door and have a stroll to the back and then POP.
Whats that all about
overfuelling by the sound of it mate, does it pop a flame when you turn it off? do you let the car idle for a bit before turning off?
It's fairly common. Nothing to worry about.
have you fitted that tdc lead you collected mate

Yeah, I go easy for the last few minutes then let it sit for about 2 minutes before turning it off. I don't think it made a flame, a friend said it didn't though.
I cleaned up the outside of the carb so maybe I've knocked the mixture screw a little.
Cheers for that mate :)
