that has snapped of the gearbox,is there a way to fix this or way
around it???

Its quite easy, I've seen someone do it lifting the engine out by threading a rope through it

The word "ERROR" springs to mind. I suppose its too late by then, super glue(or Blue Tac for the hardcore mixture screw repair) ain't going to fix that :D
some other muppet :D broke it,but im sure it could be welded
right,or maybe the casing could be tapped an i could be able to
bolt a new housing on?
