Idle speed?

Just a quicky, what is the normal idling speed of most peoples 5. Haynes reckon the idle speed is 650rpm which i think is way too low most cars ive ever driven have an idle speed of around 850-1100 rpm just wanted to know what was normal.

I've never been able to get any of my cars idle lower than 900 mate. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it doesn't go any higher than 1000.

Sweet mate thanks got it around 950 -1000 at the mo and sounding nice 650 just seemed ridiculous :agree:

my old 5 would sit at 800rpm and run lovely, but that might be a dodgy reading.. currently my cars at 900rpm and fine:)

mines sits at 1000...sometimes a shade over
somtimes a shade under

sepends on that cam your running mine was always better at 1100 presuming the rev guage is accurate
