my mate had one and wrote it off. there alright but nothing special..
But everyone around by me is killing them now.. its all they go on about..
2bh i think there over rated and ****! few ppl got some running 200-250bhp and they don't seem that fast :S.. lag lag lag then they go..
anyone raced one in there 5? hope you blew it to bitts :D
just wondering what you lot on here thought about them..?

TBH I like them, but insurance is way to high on them compaired to the 5.

i dont think i have an advantage..
there just not put out to what people think they am..
been in my mates civic type-r with filter, manifold raced a 250bhp one. didnt really pull much 2bh. was side by side til he hit booost.
raced a standard 5 gtt and it pulled all the way to 80mph with my mate. i was well chuffed.:D

Put it this way, my car is spec'd pretty well, granted I should have a 285 cam (coming next week) my cousin has a glanza v, 220hp (apparently), and he beats me....after 4th gear he just goes..so yea I think they go well, still love the 5
Also w35t, I go to cannock on sundays now and then just to rep the 5 lol, look out for a silver 5 ;) Although, telford is the place to be if u like flashy cars..

good solid cars, sadly its the chavs natural progression from corsas/saxos
but i wouldnt think they were cool compared to the r5
wasnt there a starbo vs r5 event mentioned a while back, should someone offer the invitation to them? i think it would shut starbo mouths up once and for all, and when their 250bhp starbo gets beat by a 180bhp r5 then u can tell them to their faces to stop chatting horse sheet

my bro has a glanza its running a forged engine,20psi and it pulls 116mph terminals:devil:,tbh the glanza engine is far better than the c1j ,stronger,easier to get big power,
my mam also has one as a daily runner it was at the last motorscope rollingroad day and made 206bhp@12psi i have also raced a civic type r in this car and left it for dead:smokin:
prob would be a good engine to put in a five,they seem to be appearing in a few different cars eg novas, minis etc

Well...as of about an hour ago, my cousins starlet went bang! He was driving, put his foot down, slowed down, loud knocking noises, car judders and cuts out. I smell an engine rebuild needed :(

sure the boost hose didnt blow off? my pulsars boost hose came off and the car wouldnt run and sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders, put it back on and good as new
Yea but im sure you pulsar ticked over...it just clicks once when trying to fire it up and thats it. Been looking at the starlet forums. Going to have to take the head off and see if there is any obvious damage etc etc

it didnt tick over fella, now if it was the 5 you could still drive it as normal just without the boost

The Pulsar struggles to tick over because of the maf, if it blows a boost pipe off. The Starlet's use a different setup, blow through i'd guess, and they'll still run, just like the 5, if a boost pipe pops off.

same happend to a 250bhp one a kid had..
he sold it to some kid. he run it on full boost which was 1.2 bar if im right :S anyways.. half hour later BANG!
5 all the way.. ;)
If they're treated well, they're extremely reliable. A mate's running 1.6 bar on his daily and has done for quite some time now. He drives to France in it too. It was rolling roaded at 320bhp, but I wouldn't beleive that even though its quick. It's still a decent motor though.
yeah that is true. if they are treated properly then they can be good.
just costs alot of money for that engine to be forged etc. and most people who have them dont do it thats why bad things happen.
His engine was forged. We're thinking its not an engine problem as it still turned over the next day albeit not much lol.
