Well as some of you may know i have been looking for a cup car for abit, after missing out on Dunc's Cup to Jesus - the swine! I had to look elsewhere.
When i was on the phone to jesus he happen to mention a cup car on ebay a while back that had been removed from Ebay!
Well i found the link and txt'd the owner.. Car was still for sale - Result!
I asked Billy if i could borrow his A-Frame, and as he is such a nice happy chappy he glady agreed.
Today was the day, got the money from the bank, went to the seller's house in colchester & we agreed on a price slighty lower than the asking price & included some decent spare's so result!
The car starts up so easily, engine runs sweet, no smoke, or anything. Oil & collant levels look good.
It took me about an hour to hook up the A-Frame as its the first time i have ever used one, but is really easy and i will be purchasing one very soon.
I have not long got home so i thought i would start a thread.
Here are a few pic's before it got dark, Still havent fitted the front bumper..

Now the paint work looks like its been done in a barn or something, which is fine as i intend to the same lol, but hopefully a better job.
The car drives lovely, did a tiny bit of driving on private land.
Oh and just for Mart the Gear know is mint, might take it off and put in a bag and keep for a mint car ;-)

Good man chris , congratts....:D, looks better than the pics...:), thought it may of been still available, thats what i like to see , well done billy for the means of transport.....:D, be good to see along with the others @ national day possibly, well done mate , mega pleased for you....:D
Awesome! Fantastic to see yet another Cup car in the rtoc circles. We're building up a healthy collection of them :cool:
I bet it's got mint dials/clocks as well :sad2: ;)
If you want to sell that gearknob, giss a shout mate :D

Dial are pretty decent, but for some reason a previous owner has changed the mileage to read 555555 which is well out lol. Speed cable is also not working but thats nothing.

:agree: sure something can be sorted mate, also may need your skills sorting out the carb.

Looks well, i was watching this on the bay. It went for a grand last time it was auctioned with no reserve, is that what you paid?

I'm really pleased you've finally purchased a cup car, it's so nice to see another 1 falling into the right hands (and within the RTOC fold)

That looks lovely! Are the graphics down the side original? Forgive my ignorance but I have not seen them before...
I wonder if I can find where this car currently lives and makes the guy a better offer! After all it must be near me!!:wasntme:

The graphics are original yes, not Factory but dealership fitted.
The old boy is a Gentlemen, 79, 80 in may and will give up driving then... we have already shaken hands over the deal, although i wont take ownership of the car until he is ready - I dont con old men and couldnt take away his pride and joy.
But least just say i am getting the ph1 for alot less than i paid for the cup car :D

Not 100% on the colour yet, defo keeping white...
White & Blue were the old Radbourne Racing colours & then they changed to White & Red.

Track days will have to wait for a while, i want to make sure the car is running correctly first before it hits the track.
Hopefully sometime soon tho, Brands & Lydden look like the easiest and qucikest track for me to get to atm :-)

Yeh nearly how i want it, just the bodywork/paint to do a quick fix and yeh it will be good enough for me to have a few laughs in.

I think it is, has alot of the cup features, ie: no sound-deadening in the boot, under the sets. The devil strut has the bolt underneath that most people forget, the larger rear torsion bar, Devil Side exit, Devil Cage etc etc.
But col your welcome to pop round, if i ever need work on it, its coming to you.
