View Full Version : What size wheels ?
Im after a spare wheel for my Reno 5, asked in the wanted section but confused to what wheel i need. Ive got turbines on there at the mo but fitting the 285mm disc conversion, will my turbines still fit ? and what steelie wheel will fit ?
Cheers Leigh :D
The 15" 16 valve 'spare' steel wheel from the 19 16V and the phase 1 Clio won't fit with the 285mm brake setup. Conflicting stories whether the 285s work with the Turbines as some say they do and some don't  :D

I'd say you'll be able to fit turbines with a spacer to clear the caliper but i'd trial fit one before hand
but you can fit willy wheels straight on with the 285mm discs as i have this on mine :agree:

I believe a spacer would push a 16v spare wheel enough. I only learnt the hard way after putting it on mine and realising the car wouldnt move.
failing that i know tsw hockys clear the 285
With the steelies you'd have to space em out a fair bit, and IMO having the use spacers anyway doesn't sound like too good an idea, especially with spirited driving or trackdays

I only wanted the steelie as a spare, got that tyre weld stuff but not much good if the wheel or tyre is completely fcuked. But looks like i may need to get a spare turbine.

If you get a puncture, carry your normal spare, if its at the back its fine, if the puncture is at the front just put the spare on the rear and then replace the front wheel with the one taken off the back, plus the renault 5 spare wheel fits fine on the cage, anything larger it does not :(

Ive not got a spare or the cage, so was going to put it in the boot. Its only for when i go away in April dont want to be stuck at the Ring with no spare :sad2:
