If a fuel tank leak's and its the actual tank, can it be repaired? If so how?
Or is it just easier to replace?

Where's it leaking from? The yellow bung on the drivers side?

the leak is not from the actual fuel tank...more the reserve tank. Any ideas???

Good to see you've pin-pointed the issue and are totally sure mate :laugh:
Most common place to go is the bung on the drivers side... that'll stink the car out and leak with anything over about 1/4 of a tank full. Depending on where its leaking from (crack, hole etc) plastic welding is probably your best bet. empty tank and tank off job though.

Weld it :laugh::laugh:
no need to take the tank off, as has been explained many times before.
use sikaflex - the windscreen sealant stuff on any plastic tank repairs.
once it sets you will see why.....

Turns out its not the tanks, its the reserve tank fuel pump... i have bypassed that so it wont leak.
Mot this afternoon, wish me luck.
my tank leaked when i had the reserve pump hooked up. i havent got the reserve tank now. and it looked like it was leaking from where the reserve feed joined the main tank.
is this high up? as i havnt repaired or blocked the old reserve feed off at the main tank end, do you think this will still leak? cheers
