Markd
21-04-2009, 18:08
Hi chaps

THERE IS AN RTOC STAND THIS YEAR

we have spent a whole heap re-organising the event, was let down by a few people last year and the gale force weather totally screwed the trade area up.

The major changes this year are

1 - better track deals (contact me for more info as its cheaper for RTOC only)
2 - new RALLY sprint and RALLY stage next to clubs
3 - entire NEW layout with all sections together rather than split over different parts of the site. All sections together with clubs in middle.
4 - Trade area in outer paddock next to clubs
5 - Live arena next to clubs
6 - Top 25 next to clubs
7 - Welcome centre free to enter this year with freebies etc
8 - F1 pit stop challenge - free
9 - European clubs attending including France 5gt club.

I could spend all day explaining track but to be brief, track costs 14k+vat to hire plus medics plus book a track sign on so total is about £19k inc vat. We sell 6 hours at £15.00 per slot we make £9990 which is almost a 10k loss. If we sell it for £20 a slot and sell 100% we still lose £7-8k. So essentially it is not expensive but its the manner in which people are buying sessions it appears that way. If we were to sell 100 open pit sessions at £250 like book a track we would make £25k so I hope that explains things. (Chris Millar can confirm my pricing above as he looked at hiring the Rock).

If you have any questions let me know by dropping me a PM or email mark@frenchcarshow.co.uk

PS camping is at Wicktead park again. We have exclusively hired the Hexagon Resturant/Bar for FCS and have a prime spot in the park. Wickstead have put their prices up a tad and its £15 a night for up to x4 people one car/tent. We have booked Friday/Saturday and Sunday nights for those who want to make it a weekend (and some are, especially the Frenchies).

Shop at http://www.frenchcarshow.co.uk/shop

Have a look at the site and you will see the additions this year also http://www.frenchcarshow.co.uk

I should be able to show you a map showing the improvements this year soon.

Thanks
Mark

Markd
28-04-2009, 23:27
We have had a few bookings so far through http://www.frenchcarshow.co.uk/shop

Latest news is we have a pile of Group B Rally Cars worth about £500k coming and hopefully we will get them on track again !

Also details to be announced but we have an amazing stand of several demo cars coming and it will involve taking people out in Turbos (you may not be impressed as you have them) and being taken out on track for free.

We also have some serious R26-R action planned.

Hi all

We have released the official program of events. You will get this on A5 on glossy paper so you will be able to navigate your way around and know what's on when so you maximise your day. Your exact club location i.e. stand number will be released nearer the time as it depends on how many cars book in.

you need to select CLUB which is RTOC, then if you want to park with your club you select one car pass which is FREE.

We run this system so we know how much room to give your club.

We have over 1500 club cars in the area so we need to have some managment in place.

Hope that helps.

Markd
01-06-2009, 18:27
Hi mate

the camping was offered due to demand (and requests), initially it was sat night only but there are people coming from Europe i.e. the 5GT Club who are booked three nights.

Scottish Clio lads are travelling down Friday also so wanted Friday camping.

Saturday night if the popular night with out 250+ people camping.

I don't believe the will bat an eyelid unless its incredibly bad.

There is a rally stage on plus a 205 T16 Group B taking to the track at lunch, they must be louder but then again I ain't heard your car.

103 is a fair limit as it used to be 98 !

minty83

Markd
03-06-2009, 20:53
hi mate

I am nothing to do with time allocation but I will say this in the meantime.

1 - you will get longer out on track as no pace car on second session as you will get at start of each session for track familiarisation and you can use the pit lanes. Its a constant run for 30 minutes on track.

If anything happens to causes you a big problem give Gordon a buzz on 07971055152 and I will sort you out on the day with another session. If you still want to discuss ping Gordon an email at gordon@frenchcarshow.co.uk with details and order number.

Many people (incl RTOC) asked us for extended sessions and quite a few clubs lets us down last minute with orders so left loads of 30 minute slots to fill.

Just got back now, 5 hr journey as last 100 or so miles on way back the van was mis-firing & generally breaking down every 5 mins. Think the aei is on its last legs as something is breaking down under load ignition related.

Big thanks to clee for the gallon of petrol, Jesus for the track time & the rest of the rtoc members for the banter as usual:)

had a brilliant day with dicky and djinuk, respect goes out to clee for driving pretty much flat out on the track

Cheers :agree:

Old JIL was really on top form yesterday  Just given the brakes and fluid a good overhaul and was running a bit too much boost for track .Had to turn the wick down towards the end tho ...was all getting a bit too warm in the boot
Even managed to upset a K-tec demonstrator which was an added bonus :wasntme:

Cheers everybody for a mint time..:D, had an excellent time, managed to get to the camping early , where me an krissey m were greeted by fred and pascal and all the other french guys whomb had travelled the long journey..:), managed to polish off half the cool box before fish head , laura , bernard [sam} and tom arrived.., had a good time lookin @ the gt`s whilst drinking pascal`s wine all eve...:wasntme:, then crashed with a blinder of a headache....
The next day was meet with the challenge of a driveshaft being put in {mainly}by the truelly lovely nick kettle aka tarrmac trasher, with the aid of clee`s ever exstensive tool box.., after a quick test drive itwas then on the track , the ole car went extremly well and i was soon picking up the pace...and bad habits..:wasntme:, like trying to undertake..:dearme:, all that aside , i had a mint day and i was surprised that even on standard boost with minimal mods how competetive the little car was..a few clio`s` and meganes were challenged..especially in the corners..:), maybe it was just my new suit of which i felt like a burke in..., anyhows , thanks people, you all made it a fab day..ohh an krissey m i have your sunglasses , they look better on me..;).
ps , tom , i was so sad to see your car buddy, i hope you get something sorted out soon .. .

Yeah was a great day / evening

Thanks to clee and Nick for the passenger sessions, also to Brigsy for afew goes in the van...Never seen so many peoples reactions to a white van hammering at 18psi down the straight at Rockingham :D;), despite the missfire..think we still managed afew laps without problems

Real nice to see the French guys at the campsite, some very cool touches done to their cars :agree:

i didnt think the "show" was all that tbh
but for the meeting of old/new people it was all good,
didnt get to meet too many rtoc'ers as the stands were all jumbled up/nearly non existant and there was never any1 there. lol

unfortunately my clutch had packed up and any more than 2mm throttle with no boost meant it spun up like a bitch lol.

and sorry to any1 who was near when i let the antilag/launch control off
its quite loud. lol
