View Full Version : Battery tray, door removal
Im in the process of refurbing my car ,as u all know ,,
How do i remove the battery tray ?? i cant get to the inside nuts ?? how do i access these ??
Also door removeal ,its got the old roll pins and not torx screws, whats the best way to remove the pins , drill or punch them out ??:)
thanks matt
you wil struggle to drill a door pin out. you need a hole punch to get them started the draper kit is ****.
for the battery tray if i remember correctly pull the carpet down behind where the fuse box is and its hid there some where.

No, just reach up behind the fusebox area and youl feel them :)
right i still can not get my doors off , i bought a drapper kit and the mandrels were not the right size or it just punched all the way through ,is there any other way getting these pins out ???
And for the battery tray cant get to the nuts , so how do i take the dash out ??:)
thanks matt
matt you CAN remove the battery tray without removing the dash, if a hefty fuker like me can im sure you can too:D i did however scream my frustation at the 5 while i was doing so:D
what i did was unscrew the all the fuses and stuff and moved them to the side abit, i then sat out side the passenger side and sort of yoga'd my arm up behind the dash.
thanks raj will give it another crack then mate.
Any chance u know about how i can get the door pins out of the hinges ??:)

:agree:,yep bit of a pig,but you can get a ring spanner on them easily
enough, they are a fair way up behind dash,so you think you have
reached far...then reach a little more, they are located where the
bulk head changes to an angle.
:)
Been doing my test this weekend. I gave up. The nuts are in line with the bonnet release wire but mine were covered with about 2cm of soundproofing which I couldn't get behind:
