is it worth getting these balanced/lightened or is it not
a done thing?
also as well as crankshaft an flywheel what other items can
be lightened an balanced?....pully wheel??

i think the biggest gain you would even notice would be the flywheel remeber if its very light the revs will drop off abit quicker. as for the rods and crank the changes a difference in the feel would be minimal

depends what you are gonna rev the car too.

balancing stops the engine lunching itself due to vibration.

so what ur saying is then rather than for performance
gain the engine will run a bit more tick tock then?

lightening will help it rev better and you gain 'free horsepower' as the engine has less weight to turn.

the balancing helps the reliability.

I doubt you can get enough weight out of a rod to gain much in the way of performance. What it will do it allow the engine to rev higher, but since noone revs a GTT high enough to worry the rods it's all a bit of a waste of time. You're more likely to weaken something and have it fail for that reason.
