starter wire protecter

does any1 no if the wire from the starter motor to the batt has some sort of protecton from the exhaust my a heatsheild or that ?

Originally the starter motor had a heatshield around. The cable from the starter to Battery should just be supported / routed out the way of the downpipe

yer jus wanna make sure as the cable has been set on fire before so i replaced it now it has jus melted the cable in the inside so had starting probs

As standard it should have a bracket that holds the cable away from the downpipe and routes it towards the brake master cylinder then onto the bulhead where it is secured in the plastic clips and routes its way to the battery. The bracket holding the cable is secured to the engine block.
