Have actuator from the heading. Car has done 2000 miles and diaphragm is already gone. It has large crack on it. Result is that turbo spools a lot slower and pressure cannot be adjusted less than 23 psi. What to do since I never heard of similar problem? To keep this one and buy diaphragm (where?) or to fit not so fancy/shiny original one?

I have a Collins one on mine and I must admit it's been fine. See how much it costs for a new diaphram v new actuator costs. :)

Oh crap...

I wrote email to K-tec since couldn't find anywhere which type of diaphragm is used on these extra cool actuators. Another problem is that GT25 series doesn't have actuator with adjustable rod. It is fixed length. Another modification on its way I think...

Try Demon tweeks for the diaphram. It could be expensive shipping it out to Croatia mind!

Id be binning it & fitting a genuine garrett actuator;)

K-tec answered the e-mail and I can say that I'm completely delighted with the answer. They told me new diaphragm will be sent to my home address at no charge at all. Not sure yet will I place T3 actuator in classifieds after I change the diaphragm...

Will try to modify GT25 original actuator just in case...

:agree:

I was looking at one of these adjustable actuators for my new 2554r and every one I spoke to told me to stick with the genuine garrett part

You can modify the actuator supplied with the GT2554R, all you need to do is cut it to length and run a die down it, the thread is unf, but I can't remember what size. When I did mine I had to make a turn buckle for it though.

Thanks Adam, I know there isn't much fuss about modifying it. I'm only little bit disappointed that some part that costs 100 quids and supposed to be upgrade for original is garbage. I know that in global Collins actuators are good quality but i never heard that brand new Garrett actuator failed in such short time.

Serial actuator modified. Will put two nuts and wastegate bracket from Collins on this one.

Hmmm.... Will see. I will try to fit new diaphragm (which K-tec sent me) and drive it on Collins one. If the same thing happens, I'm going for original one no matter are there boost spikes or not
