The first information is starting to filter through:

Historic Cars: The Renault Histoire & Collection Team will attend as usual.

Collectors Parking Area: Yes. Dedicated parking by model as usual.

Registration Required: Yes. Via the Renault Alpine Owners Club as normal.

Cost of registration: TBC.

Goody bags: Yes with souvenir Rally Plate

Parade Laps. No. Unfortunately there will be no parade laps at any WSR events this year.

Concours. Yes. Introduced to all WSR events this year.

Gala Evening: Yes. In one form or another. We are currently exploring options and cost.

All registered Renault collectors should receive a mailing from Renault H&C with more details by the end of the month.

Am i right in reading that the collectors area wont be open to 5GTT's only Turbo 2's and gordini's etc........5GTT's are not classed as renault-sport are they? :scratch:

Usually the clubs tend to stick together so there's a few of us 5GTT owners grouped together in between the MASSES of Renaultsport Clio's & Megane's :rolleyes:

This is a Renault event so no RTOC stand. With an infield parking pass you are directed to park inside the circuit and if it's anything like last year they try to put all the different models together in one place.

RTOC have 33 going to the gala dinner and around 12 cars parking in the collectors area (not bad to say that the gala dinners is only for collectors :D )

Well, got back earlier after a quality weekend. Ended up camping Fri and Sat in the end. Was great to see the usual renaults old and new and meet some new faces aswell. Well done to Big Steve and the raider for winning his prize :agree:. Was also nice to See Duncs old minter back out and about with its new owner (Hoolio) :)

Gala ginner was awesome, great company, RTOC got a group pic with Ragnotti ;)

Saturday nights camping was fun and games, with the usual faces

well from kids chucking stones on saturday at the spiders and ramdom people getting into and sitting on my car as if its a piece of **** i dont think i will be bloody parking in the in-field next year! :argue: last year was such a better parking place even if it were out of the show a bit.
I noticed the gala had gone up 5 quid this year aswell! this might be the final nail in the coffin for me at rws, hopefully now donny is having its track improvments it will go back there with the bloody f1 next year :agree:

it was great walking round all the cars and teams after the gala and free camping at donny. them were the days

Cant believe parents would let there kids run a muck like that. I left the Dini unlocked with the windows open both days for a good few hours. I wont be doing that again. People have no respect.
On a lighter note, i will have to join everyone at the gala next year. Just couldnt justify the camping when i only live 15 minutes away.

Thanks for everyones nice comments about my success at WSR 09 :ashamed: I'm honestly blown away by it all!

I have to agree with Russel that there were some undesirables there & sometimes they liked to look with their hands as well as their eyes :sad2: but the amount of true enthusiasts & lovers of the brand outweigh the odd Blazin Squad Members coming round askin what boost it's running! :jerkoff:

I think it's a great event & the old Gala dinner was a real highlight!! I'm looking forward to the picture of the RTOC crew & Jean Ragnotti?! :laugh: Did we get him signed up to the RTOC?! :wasntme:

Interesting reading the comments above as I admit I felt like some some kind of overprotective mother hen taking a chick out for the first time (which i suppose I was) but there were times when it was more like a scrum than people standing around saying "ooo that's nice" and I may think twice about taking it to such a big event again as there seems to to a little crease on the f/n/s that wasn't there before.
But having said that up until the point where I realised I'd had too much sun and not enough water I had a good day.

Keep the pics coming as I forgot to charge my camera battery and don't have any.

It was a shame to see Ragnottis Turbo 2 finish in a cloud of smoke at the end :(, wathing that car drift round Brooklands, Luffield and Woodcote was immense!

Its a shame to hear about peoples cars getting "damaged" that is shocking behaviour!

Yes it was but TBH most of the time I just had to "step away", for someone who considers himself a very moderate smoker:ashamed: i was chuffing away like a steamtrain.

As to the damage, it's very slight and most people wouldn't notice i'm just extra picky. But what do you do? Shall I lock it away in a garage for another few years, I what to run it and I want people to see it, I was a very proud to be it's owner yesterday.:ashamed:
