another day and another kick in the goolies!

kept blowing fuses earlier everytime i put the car into reverse. so i decided it must be the reverse switch in the gearbox.
so being a clever clogs , i decided i could get to it from the top, without taking the wheel off and jacking the car up on one side to minimise oil loss. i manged to get a spanner of nearly the right size in there.... and then gave it the billy big beans.

suddenly gearbox oil came pissing out of the hole i just created.

anyone know is JB weld or chemical metal is good enough to seal it?:scared:

You geeza :sad2: :D

The oil isn't under that much pressure there, if at all, so you should be ok providing you get a good bond of the sealant.

If its cleaned up well jb weld/quicksteel should bodge it alright. I done this many years ago on a ford mt75 box when a stone hit the front propshaft & smashed a hole in the case:eek:
