hey all, having repaired my rusty surround about 3 times now i think its best if i get a propper job done. Any 1 know if renault still do the surround or the repair kit if not does any 1 have 1 for sale?
Dont really fancy cutting 1 out of another car tbh.
My sprayer/welder said he can get 1 made for sure but will cost a fortune i reccon.

Any input appreiciated

Cheers inadvance

mine is all rusty at the bottom of the windscreen, guessing its common problem on the r5s, is it just a repair panel that gets spot welded in place ?

Renault look at their prices twice a year and normally they go up, but the old thing has decreased.

you could also try a scrappy and get hold of a campus and just angle grind the windscreen surround out and weld it into ur 5 ;) be cheaper than buying a new1

I've got one, when I ordered it a year or two ago I was told it was the last one available in the UK. Maybe they have now worked through the stock they had in France. I certainly payed nowhere near £180 for it.

Hey K did you manage to sort your surround rust out ,, ive just nearly put my finger through mine :( i didnt even know mine was rusty , is there a quick repair method - ie fiber glass or something ?? maybe cut out the rusted metal then make a small piece that fits to weld in

take windscreen out and cut the infected area than make a cardboard template
of the required panel and get working on the sheet metal .
a decent body shop should be able to knock something up :agree:

arches, and rear bumper mounting points.

I got quptes of not alot but then on checking the work i saw why... but this chaps metel work is amazing... spraying on the other hand not as great
