When i stripped my rear pads the slide area had been greased. We have never known this on a car before and the haynes manual doesnt mention any form of lubricant. Please advise.
you sure its not copper grease to stop pads from sticking the pistons ?:scared:

i use copper slip on the L-shaped pad holder but i never came accross grease  i use copper slip just so the slide doesnt stick or rust and become hard to remove next time you want to replace those rear pads
No lubricant on the piston apart from brake fluid

Lets hope cleaning the piston and replacing the dirt seal will make it stop sticking.
