hi guys, wasnt sure where to post this, since its not strictly about turbo parts :)

C1E 688 engine, 1.1L, for the R5 TL, liners is what im after, ((well, potentially) if i cant buy them ill have to repair) compared to 5 GTT they seem rather hard to get hold of.
Does anyone use or know of parts suppliers who carry normal R5 stuff, not just for the R5 GTT?

I'm wondering if you can use the gt wet liners with your pistons? The blocks across the C series are pretty much the same.

hi Matt.
Well i did look at that, the TL uses 70mm bore and the GTT 76mm.
The lower part of the sleeve on the TL measures 75mm, consequently the GTT sleeves wont drop in. :(
Im now looking into filling the pitting with either silicon bronze brazing, or thermal spraying to build it up then get someone to machine them back to 70mm.
If i cant hone out the pitting, ill have to look at building it up.
Im really not sure how much wall material i can remove before stock pistons and rings will leak too much oil/compression past or piston slap occurs.

Not sure on who you have tried, just trying to find part numbers for you

14-635060-00 Goetze
021WN0801 Mahle

Mahle don't have any anywhere, or of similar sizes and we just deal with a 3rd party for Goetze which don't have stock.

Hope this helps
