Hi Guys
I believe I've read about people who have painted their ph1 body kit with a textured paint that gives a finish similar to the black unpainted OEM finish? Can anyone point me in direction of which paint to use?

Kind regards
Dennis

Dennis. I've used halfords textured paint, then paint on top with colour. The halfords stuff needs rubbing down or the texture is too sharp. It's not a bad match.

Thanks a lot mate. What did you paint on top with? Just satin black?

No mate. Renault have an actual colour match for the various phase 1 bumpers. I know mine is a Renault 612 gris. I imagine there will be a black variant. Unfortunately I don't know the number.

Cheers buddy. I want the finish that you have. My car is Silver, so I guess that will match with the same finish as yours.
Will try if i can get some spray cans mixed with Renault 612 gris.

Its like a dark charcoal colour, very hard to match. Get a sample pot first and make sure you are happy with it. Rub the kit back smooth (ish) high build flexible primer, texture paint, rub back but not too flat, just take the peaks off, colour then drop a couple of light coats of lacquer.

Seems to come out ok. :)

Thanks a lot mate. I have already ordered the paint, and have bought a lightweight race front bumper for my car.
Looking forward to trying it out. It can only get better.

I recommend Poorboy's Trim Restorer,

it simply does miracles. I am fixing my very faded plastic elements these days with it.

Im going to give that a go for sure! It might actually help the rest of my kit blend in with my from bumper which is ever so slightly darker.
