Brake issues

Hey all,
My brakes do work and she has no problem anchoring up but they just don't feel right.
The top 25% of the pedal seems to do nothing.
When you pump he pedal it sounds like an air leak.
I have changed the one way valve on the inlet manifold and bled them a few times but not much diff.
It had new disks and pads a few thousand miles ago, before I bought the car but the brakes have always felt this way.
Any one have a clue where to start looking?

Master cylinder or servo would be the next items to look at I would think.

Replacement master cylinders are v.cheap although unfortunately the same can't be said about the servo... I can't remember the exact figure but Last time I heard they were over £100 if you can even find one.

I have read somewhere that the phase 2 clio sport servo fits but I don't know for sure.

Hopefully some one will chip in with more info

No loss of fluid at all

when pumping the brakes you will get an "air" sound from the servo
a good test is to pump the brakes until hard , hold the pedal down and then start the engine up.....if's servo's working the pedal will be pulled down more!
i've always had issues bleeding the brakes at the rear......try to bleed them with a load in the boot and on the ground...use a vacuum pump or better stil a pressure fed

Are you using the old rubber brake lines? They can expand as you press the pedal.

Braided lines on front and rear.
The pedal doesnt go hard at least not at the top 50%
