Renault 5 Gt Turbo
+
Tim and Fuzz have taken on a legendary 1980s French hot hatch, the mighty Renault 5 GT Turbo. The car's owner, Ben, was part way through a full restoration when he was struck down with serious organ failure meaning his beloved GT ended up an unfinished project. Can Tim and Fuzz get his dream car back on the road?

This has got to be the only time a R5 GTT has or will ever make a restore program. The guy must of already had all the hard parts that are NLA for them to take it on.

The whole show is an embarrassment, it's so cringeworthy at times with the scripted bull shit. That Tim takes over Mike Brewer for the biggest knob on TV.

Nice 5 and pleased for the owner though, at least the sentiment of the programme is in the right place. More car action, less of the dick head acting a fool.

There could have been a bit more showing of it being put together. I know it's only 40 mins but it's all a bit rapid and pointless if the audience doesn't get to appreciate the hard work in restoring the cars.

I watched it last night, quite a good watch. Yeah not much tech info, but I suppose it's only those into 5's that care about that stuff. They did a nice job of it to be fair, if Tim had his way it would of had a charisma kit 18s and a big system in it.

I think Tim's reaction when he drove the H reg one was genuine, that's how I remember feeling as a kid in the back of my parents friends one & if I ever get mine going I imagine I'd feel the same again.

I've watched this now, I think they did a great job of cramming as much detail into a programme of less than 45 minutes whilst still making it watchable and giving the back-story its dues. The outcome for the car and the lad was fantastic. The scripted bits are what they are, I actually quite enjoyed them.

I reckon they had an RTOC dial kit in it btw :D

Looks like he has one or two things to source and tinker with now it's on the road too. Boot badge, bonnet carpet, stereo, tow eye cover.
