I stripped down ,cleaned, and renewed all the gaskets on my carb,my 11 has always been a bit rich and tended to carbon up,Following the Haynes manual,I tried to adjusted the mixture ,screwing it in until nearly stalling ,and then undo to richen the mixture, but, with mine, you can carry on undoing with no change.I need to invest in a gas anyliser:cool:

1) Is it bad for the engine if its on the rich side?
2) Can you change the mixture screw, simply by unscrewing the old one, and screwing a new one in?

Thanks in advance:D

Yes and yes mate,

If you have too much fuel you could end up with a flat spot and in worst case bore wash.

:eek:I'm assuming that bore wash is too much fuel washing the oil from the bores, resulting in piston slap?it has always past it's mot gas test,so can't be that bad.
Thanks for the advice.
