I'm currently rebuilding my Phase 1 R5.

I have done the following up to now -

• The engine is currently at Engine Dynamics undergoing a full rebuild.
• New cloth is on the way for the seats.
• Shell is being prepared for paint.
• All new running gear purchased.
• New wiring looms being build up.

My problem comes with the paint and stripping the shell has some panels are past best!! I have the chance to get a nice 1994 Campus, am I right in saying the bonnet, doors, tailgate etc will fit straight on?
obviously I will need Turbo wings. I was also hoping the rubber seals, carpets and bits of plastic from under the bonnet may come in useful too?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, no you can't assume that.

I have a 1988 5GTT and a 1988 5 Auto and parts are not the same. Holes in different places, different sizes, etc..

Some parts will fit, others not.

And you're fitting 1994 to 1986, so there will be more changes. door hinges for one.

Here's some of the Ph1 and Ph2 differences. Campus will probably have other differences too: http://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?18436-Differences-between-5GTT-Ph1-and-Ph2

Ian,

Thanks for the info I hadn't thought about the doors (and I did know they changed) so maybe I will be better purchasing panels and parts individually.

Thanks for your help buddy.

Some parts are different, wings for example, still use them though easy enough, bonnets, tailgate, trims, gaskets all useable!
