here you all are the new games area for you all to play and have a go at, theres 12 games at total so far

battleships is just to play and wont hold a hi score

desktop and laptop as far as i know as they need a flashplayer i think matt

I think getting this to work on mobile will be a non-starter Matt. Even if the flash problem could be resolved, whoever developed these apps would have needed to have programmed in compatibility for game controls, screen-size, mobile o/s's etc. I doubt that's been done and it's outside of Mick's control. I might be wrong though :D

not sure if everyone has seen this but the fact is its not being used so i may take it off if its not used

currently 3 people have used it in the time its been on ok i now you need a desktop or laptop to play but thought there may of been a little more interest:dearme::dearme::crap:

I think a lot of people access websites on mobile these days, I know for me it's actually quite rare I fire the laptop up.

I think this arcade function is likely to be used in proportion to how much general message board chit-chat there is (i.e. not much). Our website is used by people who come here to show projects, find advice for problems and to advertise (to a lesser extent). There's just not enough casual FB-type traffic on RTOC to result in an arcade being used in any meaningful way in order to generate a bit of competition and chatter around it.

Whether lack of use is a reason to pull it from the site, I have no view on. It's quite a cool thing to have.

Also, the way it shows the scores is demoralising for anyone but the top player at each task.

If it showed the top 10 scores and players that might incentivise people to have another go.

But we might find that all 10 top scores are the same person where they tried repeatedly and achieved a load of similar results.

So, again we just have one name on each game.

And clearly some people have more time to dedicate to these to get their skill level up and up! I'm certainly not going to try and beat those scores that are there now, that would be a waste of time which I don't have much spare amount of.
